Loop Capital Markets Serves as Lead Distributor on The World Bank $50 Million 15-Year Callable Sustainable Development Bond

On February 24, 2023 – Loop Capital Markets served as the lead distributor of The World Bank’s (International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, IBRD, AAA/Aaa) $50 million 15-year callable Sustainable Development Bond due February 2038. The City of Chicago was the sole investor in the transaction. CIBC World Markets, Inc. acted as lead manager.

The World Bank issues Sustainable Development Bonds in the international capital markets to support the financing of sustainable development activities designed to achieve positive social and environmental impacts in developing countries, while raising awareness of specific development themes across a range of sectors – from health, nutrition, and quality education to sustainable agriculture and climate action.

Loop Capital Teams Up with BNY Mellon to Further Opportunities for Minority Communities

Loop Capital Chairman & CEO Jim Reynolds recently sat down with BNY Mellon Managing Director, Tonia Bottoms to discuss how both firms are able to impact minority communities and grow their businesses together.

In the second quarter of 2022, BNY Mellon issued $1.7 billion of senior medium-term notes with Loop Capital as one of three minority-owned financial institutions acting as joint lead bookrunners. Loop Capital’s deep expertise and knowledge of complex debt resulted in BNY Mellon selecting the firm as a joint lead bookrunner on a significant bond issuance.

Scott Kimball Discusses Shifting Credit Market Landscape with Bloomberg

Scott Kimball, CFA, Chief Investment Officer of Loop Capital Asset Management, was recently featured in Bloomberg in a piece on the corporate bond market.

Kimball comments, “the US credit markets look as a whole to be more or less reasonably priced if not a little rich in higher quality.”

He adds, “There’s still some value particularly in longer-dated, lower quality investment-grade bonds but I would not characterize the market as cheap overall.”

Scott Kimball Shares Bond Market Perspective with Bloomberg

Scott Kimball, CFA, Chief Investment Officer of Loop Capital Asset Management, was recently featured in Bloomberg in a piece on the corporate bond market.

Kimball comments, “I would not be running to buy all the credits I can get my hands on where spreads have rallied.”  He goes on to add, “there’s too much banking on the Fed in particular slowing, or changing policy, without a tremendously strong signal that they are ready to do so.”
