James Reynolds, Jr. is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Loop Capital, which he established in 1997 with the guiding principle: “To provide client service beyond expectations.”

This motto remains the foundational driving force behind the firm’s continued success. Mr. Reynolds oversees all aspects of Loop Capital, including investment banking, brokerage, project finance, financial advisory services, and asset management.

A 40-year veteran of the financial services industry, Mr. Reynolds held senior positions at multiple global Wall Street firms before founding Loop Capital as a municipal bond firm. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded into one of the country’s most dynamic and diversified investment banking firms. Its services include corporate finance, global equity trading, taxable and tax-exempt fixed-income trading, mergers and acquisitions, public finance, infrastructure investment, asset management, and financial consulting. Loop Capital has strategic partnerships in various enterprises, including a registered investment advisor &Partners and JLC Infrastructure, an investment and asset management firm co-founded with Magic Johnson Enterprises in 2015.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Reynolds is deeply committed to community service. He currently serves on the boards of The Chicago Community Trust, the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), World Business Chicago, Intersect Illinois, and the Chicago Urban League. Additionally, he is a board member of the Kellogg Global Advisory Board the Hope Chicago Executive Leadership Advisory Board, and a member of the CFA Institute.

Most notably, Mr. Reynolds has received many distinguished awards, including the Lincoln Presidential Foundation, Lincoln Leadership Prize, Municipal Forum New York, Austen Koene Career Achievement Award, and Bond Buyer Hall of Fame Inductee.

Mr. Reynolds has also participated in the following trade missions:

Mr. Reynolds holds a Master of Management in Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1991 and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 52, 53, 63, and 79 licenses.
