Loop Capital Bolsters Public Finance Division with Addition of Four Senior Bankers

CHICAGO, March 5, 2024 – Loop Capital Markets, LLC (“Loop Capital”) announced today that John Malpiede, John Giammarino, Alain Garcia and Candace Kelly have joined the firm’s Public Finance division. Both Malpiede and Giammarino will be based out of Loop Capital’s Boston office. Garcia rejoins Loop Capital in the firm’s San Antonio office and Kelly will be based out of Loop Capital’s Houston office. 

With over 27 years of public finance experience, Malpiede joins Loop Capital as Managing Director from Citi where he was Head of Citi’s New England Public Finance Group and Manager of Citi’s Higher Education Group. Malpiede has served as senior manager on over $40 billion of municipal transactions.

Giammarino also joins Loop Capital as Senior Vice President from Citi where he was Director in Citi’s New England Regional Public Finance Group. He joined Citi’s public finance department in 2012 and covered the New England region for over ten years. 

Garcia rejoins Loop Capital where he will be a Vice President in the firm’s San Antonio office.  Garcia previously worked in Loop’s Chicago office before moving to New York City to join Citigroup.

Kelly also joins Loop Capital to head up Loop’s Houston office.  Kelly previously spent seven years at UBS, where she was a Director.
